Well, I watched the video. It was painful. I think I need to look more martial than a battered turtle on its back a lot.

So I learn for myself, time and time again, to not kid myself. (Don't pack a gazillion things before a test. Get sleep, and leave plenty of room to relax, eat and drink well before test.)

I learn that when the brain is out, I felt like I couldn't trust what I know. And it really looks bad (a la video) to make up stuff and fight. quite ungraceful and distressing. Gotta commit and trust more.

Also, gotta be more aware of that knife. Hand the handle edge to the sensei and don't grab the blade, but the handle or nonsharp edge of blade.

Going forward:
1. being much more precise than bigger folks
2. cleaner and more precise locks
3. move into the entry quicker for the entry, don't wait
4. be softer and commit fully to technique

oops- by more "martial" i was thinking of breath control, focus & posture.

gotta tell that to myself more. senpai dixon & shihan berrios helped to remind me to sit up and breathe which was helpful.

now back to more sleep.

Hey Woody, I hope to catch you in class today otherwise we might have to follow up on the popular suggestion of putting your face on a Milk Carton.

I just read Jeannie's reply but within the context of the circumstances I thought it was a great job. I was especially surprised with the energy that she had while sparring.

My test was simpler and I think it went well. I was so nervous that the one test was harder than two or three regular classes, so I really need to learn to relax!
